Five Iconic Roles of Amitabh Bachchan (The Millenium Superstar)

Though, Shri Amitabh Bachchan acted in over 200 movies in his career and every movie is a cult classic but we at Masala Pop have picked out five iconic roles which were played by the Shenshah of Bollywood that are his absolute best! So, all you Amitabh fans just scroll down to go in your memory lane:

Deewar:

It is the perfect portrayal that became the phenomenon of Vijay. The road less traveled by and the easy steps to wealth. Vijay is ambitious, knows that he wants everything from life that he hasn’t been entitled to. The movie depicts the situation of the country in the 1970s, where the feudal lords and the business owners took advantage of the laborers and the poor.

Vijay is the coming of age character, who fights with these people, but he ends up becoming the very person he used to despise. The movie showcases a face-off between Ravi and Vijay, between principles and opulence. When the dialogue is said by Shashi Kapoor after Amitabh’s famous monologue “Mere pass maa hai” everyone skips a heartbeat while watching it. This is the most iconic scene of Indian Cinema ever. Amitabh Bachchan proves that he is a superstar in this particular scene.

Sholay:

He is second fiddle to Dharmendra and yet is the most remembered after the iconic Gabbar. He has a silent and an understated role in this movie who believes in friendship and do actions through his heart. His love is rhetoric and has made him the way he is supposed to be. The role of Jay was tailor-made for Big B. Still, the movie is popular in today’s generation and if your name is Basanti then please be prepared because anyone can ask “Tumhara Naam kya hai Basanti”.

Agneepath:

Vijay Deenanath Chauhan, whenever we hear this name the superstar crosses our mind. Amitabh Bachchan received the Best Actor National Award for this movie. He demanded attention by his presence. He is ruthless, relentless, and has no qualm about it. This movie again made it clear that age wouldn’t stop Amitabh and the flops were only a glitch in his long road to superstardom.

Trishul:

This flick stands solely for Amitabh Bachchan and he became a superstar after this movie. Some of the scenes will make you cry. The climax is so strong and stood the best to date. A must watch on a not-so-legitimate relationship between a father and son and the tussle between the two.

Shahenshah:

Amitabh Bachchan made a comeback from the movie Shahenshah, it was directed by Tinnu Anand, this movie made was an amazing experience for the audience. Amitabh Bachchan played the role of inspector Vijay he is a corrupted cop by the day and a ruthless avenger by night, whose only aim was to take revenge for his honest cop father's suicide, who was twenty years ago was wrongly framed for corruption.

This movie had a famous dialogue like "Rishte mein toh hum tumhare baap lagte hai naam hai Shahenshah".
